Senior Portraits: Frequently Asked Questions

How much do senior portraits cost in Austin?

Senior portrait packages begin at $275. Packages vary based on session length, number of outfits, locations and number of finished digital images.

Do you photograph college graduation portraits?

Yes. I photograph both high school seniors and college graduates throughout the Austin area, including campus and graduation portraits.

When is the best time of year for senior pictures in Austin?

Fall and spring are the most popular seasons, but senior portraits can be photographed year round in Austin. Early morning and evening sessions usually provide the most flattering outdoor light.

Where do senior portrait sessions take place?

Senior portrait sessions take place throughout Austin, Cedar Park, Round Rock, Georgetown, Leander, and surrounding Central Texas communities. Popular locations include Brushy Creek, Lady Bird Lake, Commons Ford Ranch, South Congress, and the University of Texas campus. I'll help you choose a location that reflects your personality and the style you want for your senior portraits. Some locations may require photography permits or additional fees.

How far in advance should I book my senior session?

Ideally, I recommend booking your senior portrait session at least two weeks in advance. This gives us time to plan your location, outfits, and the overall look of your photos. However, I understand that schedules can get busy, so I also welcome last-minute bookings when availability allows. Feel free to reach out, even if you're on a tight timeline!

What should I wear?

Choose outfits that feel like YOU — solid colors, layers, and flattering fits always work well. I’ll send you a prep guide with tips on choosing colors and accessories that photograph beautifully.

How many outfits can I bring?

The number of outfit changes depends on your senior portrait package and session length. You're welcome to bring a few extra options, and I'll help you choose outfits that complement your location and personal style. For your convenience and privacy, I also bring a portable pop-up changing room to outdoor sessions, so you can comfortably change outfits without having to search for a restroom or other changing area.

Do you help with posing?

Absolutely! You don't need any modeling experience. I'll guide you throughout your session with natural poses, simple movements, and suggestions that help you feel comfortable in front of the camera. My goal is to capture your personality, not make you look stiff or overly posed.

Can I include props or hobbies in my photos?

Yes! Bring anything that reflects your personality — sports gear, instruments, books, pets, cap & gown, or anything meaningful from your senior year.

Can parents or siblings join the session?

Yes. Parents or guardians are welcome to attend, and siblings can be included for a few photographs if arranged in advance.
