Photography has been part of my life since childhood. I grew up exploring Texas state parks with my family, always with a camera in hand, drawn to the way light and nature could tell a story. What began as a hobby—snapping landscapes on weekend hikes—quickly became a passion for preserving real, unscripted moments.
After years of photographing the outdoors, friends began asking me to capture their engagements, new babies, and milestone events. I discovered I loved photographing people just as much as the landscapes I’d started with. That spark inspired me to launch BJ Thompson In Real Life Photography, combining the natural beauty I love with heartfelt portrait storytelling.
